Nylette Lopez is a first generation Dominican-American and college graduate. Originally from Long Island, New York, she received her masters and bachelors degrees in Materials Science and Engineering from Stony Brook University. Nylette is a Materials Systems and Applications Engineer at Trane Technologies based in Charlotte, NC. She is exploring solutions for a centralized material database, as well as developing strategies to implement additive manufacturing across the enterprise. Nylette is passionate about STEM outreach in schools and advocating for students who are underrepresented in their intended professions. Within SWE, she serves as the Collegiate Engagement and Professional Development Lead for the Latinos Affinity Group.
