Senior Director of the Systems Engineering

Val Eisele is the Senior Director leading the Systems Engineering function within Medtronic’s Cardiac Rhythm Management Research and Development organization. Val and his team of engineers are involved at the start of product development, with defining design input requirements, through the end of product development, with design verification and validation. Val has held a variety of roles throughout his tenure at Medtronic with experience in hardware and systems development, program and functional management, and advanced development – laying the foundation for the future of medical technology. Val received his Bachelor of Science in Biocomputing Engineering from Marquette University, and a Master’s degree in Biomedical Informatics and Computational Biology from the University of Minnesota. Val is active in the technical community at Medtronic and has been involved in multiple Employee Resource Groups, including SWEnet and Medtronic Young Professionals. Val has led Medtronic's Cardiac Innovator Acceleration curriculum and course definition to provide widespread continuous education for employees in the cardiac space. He has been inducted into Medtronic’s esteemed group of Technical Fellows where he is currently serving as Chair. In Val’s free time, he can be found camping (especially in the Minnesota cold), spending time with his family, or reading a good book.
