Emma Lenarz has been a Project Engineer with Granite Construction for four years. Emma’s project experience has centered on work for Class I Railroads, expanding their intermodal yards while managing scopes including grading, paving, and utility work. In her role, Emma focuses on work planning, cost control, and contract management, to ensure safety, quality, and productivity while delivering projects to Granite’s clients.
Emma is also committed to training and accelerating career growth for young engineers by participating in and supporting Granite’s mentoring program. This year, Emma helped her regional team develop the Engineering Learning Community (ELC) which builds community among new engineers while giving them tools and training they need to be successful in their careers. She’s also had the oppertunity to represent Granite at conferences such as GWIC (Groundbreaking Women in Construction), SWE, and WESTEM (University of Illinois’ SWE Graduate program), encouraging the growth of women in construction.
