Dr. Charisma D. Edwards, a native Houstonian, is passionate about problem-solving through STEM. She earned her B.S. in Engineering from Clark Atlanta University and her M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from LSU, where she researched machine learning for speech recognition and served as an instructor and NSF K-12 Fellow. Her work led to co-authoring a Department of Education sub-grant with LOSFA in 2013.
Dr. Edwards began her career at Microsoft in 2014 and most recently served as a Technology Strategist for educational institutions across the central U.S. In Spring 2026, she will join the College of Engineering faculty at Prairie View A&M University. Dedicated to increasing STEM representation, she serves on the STEM External Advisory Board at Clark Atlanta University and was a leader in the Black@Microsoft Code Academy.
