Anahí Pérez is a third-year Mechanical Engineering student at Universidad San Francisco de Quito in Ecuador, where she is also pursuing a Minor in Contemporary Dance. An active member of SWE, Anahí is passionate about challenging traditional gender roles and promoting visibility for Latina women in STEM. Through her academic and artistic pursuits, she actively breaks stereotypes, demonstrating that technical rigor and creative expression can coexist. Having experienced firsthand the societal biases Latina women face during adolescence and early adulthood, she advocates for spaces where young women can explore their full potential without having to choose between disciplines or parts of their identity. Anahí is committed to inspiring future generations to redefine what it means to be a woman in STEM
