Regardless of our role in our respective organizations, we typically want to be heard and respected for our input and what we can bring to the team. How well do we remember that others want the same thing when we are in a conversation with them? Are we considering their needs and desires? How can we craft our approach for mutual success? Aside from differing cultures, there are currently five generations we need to consider when effectively communicating with others: The Mature Silents, The Baby Boomers, Gen X, Gen Y, and Gen Z. This session will review the basic "communication input" needs of these different generations and how you might adapt your technique to achieve a win-win scenario. Attendees will be actively engaged so they can personally visualize, articulate, and execute a communication plan in order to better meet their objectives while being more effectively heard in return.
Learning Objectives:
Identify the five generations typically in the workforce today.
Develop a receiver and communicator-based communication plan.
Evaluate communication plan effectiveness and adapt to increase success rate.
