Emma Van Fossen, CEM, is the Energy Engineering Team Leader for the Preconstruction team at Trane Technologies, where she develops projects to reduce resource consumption and greenhouse gas emissions for customers’ buildings. Throughout her 6 years and 5 roles at Trane Technologies, she has led a variety of decarbonization projects to reduce greenhouse gas emissions both for customers and internally.
Emma has served on the Leadership Coaching Committee of the Society of Women Engineers for 5 years, and was recognized as a 2024 Coach of the Year and a 2020 WE Local Guiding Star awardee. She is also active in engineering outreach and mentorship with a variety of organizations including SWE, Fresno State, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and Reading Partners. Emma received a mechanical engineering degree from Fresno State; she is now a member of its Industry Advisory Council.
