Dr. Alexis McKittrick, a SWE Life Member and FY24 SWE President, has been a volunteer leader in SWE for over 15 years. She has served in SWE leadership roles that span all facets of our Society, including three terms on SWE’s Board of Directors. Alexis is speaking in her personal capacity at WE25. She is currently the Deputy Assistant Director of Resources, Science, and Industry at the Congressional Research Service, which conducts objective, non-partisan analyses for the U.S. Congress. She also has prior experience as a leader in the U.S. Department of Energy's geothermal technologies office, a senior researcher at the IDA Science and Technology Policy Institute, and a policy and technical analyst at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Climate Change Division. Alexis holds a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
