Violeta Escandón Correa is a first-generation student from Colombia, raised in NYC, and a senior at Georgia Tech pursuing a B.S. in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering with a minor in Sustainable Cities. She has interned with Procter & Gamble, DOW Chemical, and GE Vernova, and has been actively involved in SWE for over three years, holding roles from Industry Relations to Vice President of Technical Development. Violeta has spearheaded signature initiatives for the chapter, organizing 50+ professional development workshops and collaborating each semester with 10+ corporate partners. She has secured over $60K in sponsorship funding and expanded GT-SWE’s corporate network beyond traditional partners, driving growth and fostering innovation through hands-on learning experiences. Dedicated to cultivating a productive and inclusive environment, Violeta ensures that SWE events and collaborations empower students to achieve their goals while building meaningful connections.
