Shelley is a Principal Systems Engineer at LivaNova’s Neuromodulation division and a SWE Life Member based in Dallas, TX. Her undergraduate and early career were in Electrical and Computer Engineering R&D for three major industries (business computing, aircraft cabins, and medical devices). After more than a decade of demonstrated technical success, she made a mid-career shift to Systems Engineering and earned an MSE in Systems Engineering from Johns Hopkins University. She now uses her technical and communication skills to lead cross-funcitonal teams, translate user needs into system and subsystem requirements, perform system and product technical analyses, and manage risk assessments to ensure the safety and effectiveness of complex medical device systems. As a strong advocate for women in engineering and technology, Shelley has also held numerous volunteer and elected SWE leadership positions over her 23-year membership.
