Raised by a family of educators, Ali had no idea what any jobs in the “real” world were like. As she was selecting her college major, her father advised “go into engineering, you are good at math and will get a job since no women are in engineering.” She blindly followed that advise and went to college to pursue a Chemical Engineer degree. Her father was right: there was only one other female who graduated with her. When she got her first job in the filtration industry, she was the only female engineer in her company. She did not let that stop her from having a voice and making an impact. Over the past 25 years, she has gained experiences in many different roles. In 2021, she made the shift to HR as Regional Head of Talent Acquisition and now is Global Head of Recruitment at Henkel.
