Ivy Kwok is a senior PhD Candidate in Environmental Engineering and triple Bruin at the University of California, Los Angeles. Her research is on natural and engineered biodegradation of groundwater contaminants, namely 1,4-dioxane and chlorinated solvents. She is a first-generation college student passionate about mentorship and all things interdisciplinary and aspires to pursue a career in academia. Outside of the lab/classroom, she can often be found aboard public transit – she enjoys food adventures with loved ones, pogo-sticking, attending her favorite dance cardio workout, and staying active in the sustainability world. She has been on 130+ bus/train lines globally, and she created the first official local host committee’s guide for public transport to WE23 in Los Angeles, where she is curently the FY26 Section President. She loves sharing transit with others and has hosted transit trips for her students, at Graduate Student Orientation, and through the annual SoCal Transit Week!
