Dr. Sarah Bauer is an Assistant Professor of Environmental and Civil Engineering at Mercer University in Macon, GA. Dr. Bauer holds a doctorate degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville. Through her 8+ years in academia, Dr. Bauer is an advocate for the recruitment and retention of women and minorities in engineering and has worked on a variety of locally and nationally funded projects to enhance engineering education and develop K-12 outreach programs. Dr. Bauer’s work in K-12 outreach has been disseminated through various platforms, including the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE). Dr. Bauer is the founder and co-director of the SWEET (Society of Women Engineers: Engineers in Training) Outreach Program at Mercer University. Dr. Bauer is a long-time member of SWE and currently serves as Faculty Advisor for her institution’s student chapter of SWE.
