Maria Samija is an innovative leader with a rich career spanning almost 3 decades, with expertise in the chemicals, materials, and construction industry sectors.
She currently serves as the Vice President of R&D for the CertainTeed Division of Saint Gobain North America, leading a team in R&D, Codes & Compliance, and Asphalt Technologies for a multi-billion-dollar construction materials division. Before joining Saint Gobain, Maria was the Global Technology Director for Purification Solutions at Cabot Corporation. Her tenure at DuPont and its spin-off Chemours saw her take on several pivotal roles, including Global Business Development Senior Manager and Global Technology Manager for the Teflon® enterprise, resulting in significant new product revenues.
Maria holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry/Material Science from McGill University and a B.Sc. in Chemistry from Concordia University. She has multiple patents and industry recognitions, including being named one of the world’s top young innovators by MIT’s Technology Review.
