Ella Zhou is the Head of R&D group for Sustainable Buildings and Grids at Siemens Foundational Technologies, where she leads technology strategy and pre-development for Siemens business units globally. With over a decade of power system engineering and policy experience, Ella leads research, development, and demonstration projects on sustainability, electrification, grid-interactive efficient buildings, renewable energy integration, and multi-energy systems. Prior to joining Siemens, she was a Senior Grid Systems Engineer at U.S. Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory. Ella has published 40+ peer-review publications and holds an M.A. from Harvard University.
