Marguerite Smith is a Patent Agent at Banner Witcoff focused on intellectual property strategy and innovation protection. She has experience conducting prior art searches, analyzing patentability, and drafting patent applications across a wide range of technical areas, including data security, electrical engineering, medical devices, and wireless technology. Marguerite holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering and Engineering Management from Miami University.

During her time at Miami, she served as Section President and Treasurer of the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), where she advanced professional development, mentorship, and diversity initiatives. Under her leadership, the section earned its first Silver Mission Recognition Award in FY24. She continues to support SWE as Chair-Elect of the Membership Engagement Working Group.

Beyond her technical and professional pursuits, Marguerite is a nationally recognized beach volleyball player, balancing a career in patents with competitive athletics and a passion for teamwork.
