Sustainable Disaster Recovery with Schneider Electric and The Footprint Project ($)
Saturday, October 25, 2025
12:20 PM - 4:00 PM CT
Pre-registration Required
Join Schneider Electric and the Footprint Project as we explore a more sustainable future for disaster recovery. We will start at the Footprint Project's warehouse and see the assembly and maintenance of the portable microgrid (one of the 2022 Time Magazine Best Inventions). Next, we'll go to a community "lighthouse" (a permanent installation and/or community touchpoint when disaster strikes). We'll provide hands-on support to one of these "lighthouses" and learn about community response to disaster. (Note: the length of time at the warehouse and second location will depend on the 2025 hurricane season as we do not want to disrupt an active response. This will be an active tour in a warm location - please dress accordingly.)
Closed toe and closed heel shoes required (safety shoes are preferred if participant has them), long pants required, no cell phones allowed while walking around the plant (can bring them to the site but must be left in the control room during the tour).
Following PPE will be provided onsite: Hardhat, Safety glasses, Hearing protection.
The bus will leave the Convention Center. Please arrive 15 minutes early at the Shuttle Hub near Hall G. There will be a sign that says Tours Meet Here.
