Mentorship doesn't have to be a one-way street. Peers can be a powerful resource for early-career growth, serving as both mentors and mentees in one. In this session, we will emphasize the career benefits of mentoring others within your peer communities in formal and informal capacities. We will illustrate how we built a thriving peer mentorship community to accelerate careers within our near-peer group and will provide a framework for attendees to organize similar mentorship groups within their own peer circles. Attendees will leave this session prepared to identify potential peer mentors, organize a successful peer mentorship group, and foster the co-success of themselves and their peers.
Learning Objectives:
Identify potential near-peer mentors.
Organize a successful near-peer mentorship group.
Describe the long-lasting career benefits of near-peer mentorship.
