Director of Strategic Initiatives, Water System Los Angeles Department of Water & Power Arcadia, California, United States
We all have our own mountains to climb. In this session, I will explore career and life lessons that I discovered as I hiked hundreds of miles and summitted peaks on trails around the world. After years of procrastination and putting myself last, I prioritized my wellness and took to the trails at every opportunity, even when time was short and victories were small. I will share lessons from my time outdoors that I have practiced to "stay ready" throughout my journey to executive management. Attendees will learn how I translated these lessons to actionable tasks that can inform goal-setting for career growth and personal development, and can even help stay ready for the next hiking adventure. Whether you are trailblazing in your career or summitting your next mountain, I will provide relatable examples and tips for recognizing when to seek and accept help while prioritizing wellness along your path.
