Product Manager Teradyne Somerville, Massachusetts, United States
This session will focus on explaining what a semiconductor is, how it impacts technology, and the variety of careers available. The global semiconductor industry is approaching 1 trillion dollars, with significant U.S. investment being funded through the CHIPS act. Design, manufacture, and test are all crucial steps in the supply chain. Semiconductor chips are designed into almost all electronics including cars, phones, data centers, and are a critical component to enabling Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies. Electrical, mechanical, chemical, and software engineers are the most common backgrounds to have, however it is still possible to break into the industry with a diverse background and skill set. Roles in sales, operations, recruitment, HR, or finance can all be achieved with a non-technical background. Anyone interested in being a part of the next wave of technology generation should consider a career in the semiconductor industry.
Learning Objectives:
Explain what a semiconductor is.
Understand the supply chain of semiconductor devices.
Identify potential career opportunities in the semiconductor industry.
