Mechanical Design Engineer Schneider Electric Mount Juliet, Tennessee, United States
My topic is on the struggles of traditional college as an engineering student. Finding a balance in both academics and yourself, finding that go getter in you to take a semester off to take a coop or transferring if your engineering department doesn’t fit you because the first shoe you try on doesn’t always fit best. The purpose of this session is to inspire other women to find the power in themselves to take a risk because the reward will be better than ever imagined, even though the journey is scary. I will talk about how I started my journey close to home because I thought that’s what was best, felt called to go to a school I felt fit me best. In the high of my academic career getting a spring co-op offer, stepping down as SWE president, and taking a job that changed everything.
